CareSi Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

CareSi is a caregiver support tool, not an emergency response service or medical device. Do not rely on CareSi for diagnosis, treatment, emergency dispatch, or immediate safety decisions. Contact local emergency services or a qualified health professional when needed.

1. Scope

This policy applies specifically to the CareSi Caregiver Android app and CareSi Watch Android app. It supplements the common Smartan Innovations Privacy Policy.

The Caregiver app manages patient profiles, reminders, safe zones, care context, and watch pairing. The Watch app displays reminders, shares location when enabled, and provides short context-guided answers.

2. Information we process

Account information

Caregiver email address, account identifier, session information, and account preferences.

Care information

Patient name, pairing PIN, reminders, safe zones, and caregiver-entered care context.

Watch location

Precise coordinates and timestamps from a paired watch when location sharing is enabled.

Voice questions

Question text returned by the device speech-recognition service after a user chooses Speak.

Account and pairing data

We process the caregiver email address, account identifier, secure session data, and the email/PIN combination entered to pair a watch with a patient profile.

Care and safety data

Caregivers may enter a patient name, reminder schedule, safe-zone name and radius, and care context. Care context may contain sensitive personal information, so caregivers should enter only what is necessary for the intended support feature.

Location data

When a paired watch has location sharing enabled, CareSi processes precise location coordinates and timestamps to show a last known location and support safe-zone alerts. The Watch app may request background location permission so these features can continue while the watch app is not open.

Microphone and speech-recognition data

When a watch user taps Speak, the Android device's configured speech-recognition service receives microphone input and may return transcribed text. CareSi uses that returned text to answer the request. CareSi does not intentionally upload or retain raw microphone recordings. The speech-recognition provider may have its own privacy policy.

Technical data

We may process device type, app version, error information, and support messages to operate, secure, and improve CareSi.

3. How we use information

4. Local AI and health-related information

The CareSi Watch app includes a language model stored on the watch. A question and relevant caregiver-entered context are processed on the device to generate a short answer. CareSi does not use question text or caregiver-entered context to train that on-device model.

CareSi is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a medical condition. It does not currently collect heart-rate, fitness, fall-detection, or clinical vital-sign data through the shipped CareSi Android apps.

5. Permissions

You can revoke microphone or location permission in Android settings. Revoking location permission disables location sharing and safe-zone alerts. A caregiver can also pause AI guidance for a patient profile.

6. Sharing, retention, and security

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate CareSi, including with authentication, database, cloud-hosting, mapping, and device speech-recognition providers. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect rights, security, or safety.

We retain account and care data for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. The local watch session is designed to expire after seven days. Cached watch context is designed to expire within six hours.

We use reasonable safeguards such as access controls and encrypted transport where supported. No system is completely secure. Keep caregiver account credentials and patient pairing PINs private.

7. Your choices and deletion requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with CareSi. We may need to verify the caregiver account before acting on a request. Include the caregiver account email and, where available, the patient profile identifier in your request.

8. Children, changes, and contact

CareSi is designed for caregivers and adult watch users, not children under 13. We may update this policy when CareSi changes or when required by law. The current version will be posted here with an updated date.
